Bungalow Joe's
About This Spot
Stepping into Bungalow Joe's in Hanover Park is like entering a comfortable nook where familiar faces gather to unwind after a long day. The space feels understated yet inviting, with dim lighting that softens the hard cement floors and an easygoing hum of conversation. It’s the kind of place where time slows down just enough to savor the moment, whether you’re catching a local music performance or sharing a late-night chat over a perfectly poured beer.
Here, the atmosphere strikes a balance between a laid-back neighborhood bar and a carefully curated gastropub, creating a refuge from the usual weekend rush. Staff greet you with warmth that feels genuine rather than rehearsed, adding to the casual charm. The room opens up enough to comfortably accommodate friends gathered around tables, while also offering pockets of space for quieter moments.
Food at Bungalow Joe's blends the familiar with unexpected touches—homemade pizzas that don’t feel any less comforting for their crafted nature, alongside fresh-cut fries and hearty salads that fill the plate generously without fuss. It’s the kind of menu you can savor while settling in for a slow Sunday brunch or a spontaneous evening with friends. And when it comes to drinks, there’s an honest variety of choices that complement the experience, from classic cold beers to a well-mixed Bloody Mary that feels like it was made just for you.
If you find yourself drifting off to the sound of local musicians weaving through classic rock and contemporary ballads, you’ll know you’ve discovered more than just a place to eat and drink. Bungalow Joe's holds a quietly proud place in its community—a spot that recognizes the joy in simple pleasures and the comfort of good company. It’s easy to see why those who know it consider it a staple, a cozy hideaway that never tries too hard but always delivers a welcome.

Would recommend any pizza, they are home made nor frozen bar pizza! Even breafast and BLT specialty pizza. The fries and hash browns (IMO ,American fries)are fresh cut, and delicious. Taco salad is huge. Drinks are good, with decent variety in selection ... and they make great bloody there!

Spacious bar with welcoming staff & great beverage & food options. Great performance area with enough room to sit and enjoy the local talent. "Lil" is here tonight with a great mix of classic rock & more recent ballads .. electric & acoustical!

Cool spot..Kinda off the grid. Decent beer selection, really good pizza. Friendly staff.

Anyone who gives this bar anything less than 5 stars needs to have their head examined. If you don't know what you're stepping into with this place, your expectations are way off. You're going to get dim lighting, hard cement floors and a ton of beer for less money than buying it from a liquor store. If you look up Awesome Dive Bar in the dictionary, Bungalow Joes is the picture you'll find.

Fun little place that was very accomodating, great service, and decent pours. Prices were a bit higher but considering the location it was right in-line with the area.
